Today I set the intention of my practice as gratitude, you know, since we just celebrated a national holiday about giving thanks.
At the end of my practice I brought to mind everyone in my life who I’m thankful for. I mean everyone; family, friends near and distant, lovers past and present, people who challenge and frustrate me but ultimately force me to change and grow in some way.
Then I realized that every day my practice should be focused on gratitude. I have so much to be thankful for in my life that I cannot begin to remember it now, in one day. So I just grabbed my sharpie and wrote कृतज्ञता in thick black Sanskrit at the top of my mat. May I practice gratitude every day, both on and off the yoga mat.
i will be spending my afternoon practicing, working on things i know i’ve been holding back
